A Nicely Appointed Custom Tiny Home at Bethany Park, Kaiteriteri

Some homes are designed to impress. Others are designed to make everyday life easier. This custom tiny home, built by Cosy Cabins for Lynda at Bethany Park in Kaiteriteri, is a lovely example of both.

The home measures 12 m long by 3.6 m wide, the same footprint as our Cosy 48. Inside, it has everything Lynda needs for comfortable daily living: a full working kitchen, a bathroom and a laundry with its own back door for easy washing days.

Cosy Cabins looked after the whole project, including construction, delivery, commissioning and the decking, so Lynda received a completed home ready to enjoy in a beautiful coastal setting.

1. A Bright, Scandinavian-Style Living Space

A tiny home works best when every square metre earns its place. The 12 m by 3.6 m layout gives Lynda a bright living area that feels open and welcoming, with white walls, large windows and plenty of natural light.

The lounge has room for comfortable seating and a wall-mounted TV, with a dining table beside it for meals or a cup of tea with friends. Touches of greenery and warm timber keep the space fresh and relaxed, and the whole room flows naturally into the kitchen.

2. A Full Working Kitchen

A good kitchen is the heart of any home, and this tiny home delivers all the function of a full-sized one. There is a full-height fridge, generous bench space, clean white cabinetry and a window over the sink, so cooking is easy and enjoyable.

A breakfast bar with stools makes a handy spot for a quick meal or a chat while dinner is on, and it keeps the kitchen and living area connected.

3. A Restful Bedroom with Mirrored Wardrobes

Restful sleep and good storage matter in a home you love living in. The bedroom is a calm, bright space with a window above the bed, a touch of tropical colour in the bedding and a mirrored wardrobe that keeps everything neatly stored.

Built-in storage makes full use of the space and keeps the room open and uncluttered, so the home always feels fresh.

4. Bathroom and Laundry with a Back Door for Easy Washing Days

Daily essentials are all on hand. This tiny home has a full bathroom and a dedicated laundry with a front-loading washing machine, vanity and mirror, so Lynda enjoys the convenience of a conventional home under one roof.

The laundry has its own back door, which makes washing day easy. Loads go straight from the machine to the washing line outside, with no carrying through the living areas.

5. Charcoal Cladding, Timber Trim and Decking

The exterior pairs durable charcoal cladding with warm timber trim, giving the home a crisp, modern look that sits comfortably among the gardens at Bethany Park. Gas cylinders are mounted neatly on the outside wall, keeping the supply tidy and out of the way.

We also built the decking, so Lynda has an inviting outdoor space from day one. It is a great place for morning coffee or an evening in the Kaiteriteri sunshine.

6. Delivered, Craned into Place and Commissioned

Building a home in our workshop means the heavy lifting happens before it reaches your site. Cosy Cabins managed the full journey: construction, delivery, crane placement, commissioning and decking, so Lynda received a finished home that was ready to enjoy.

On delivery day the 12 m tiny home was lifted into position by crane, a smooth and efficient way to place a completed home in its setting. Once in place, we commissioned the home, checking services and finishing details so everything worked as it should.

Kaiteriteri is one of New Zealand’s favourite coastal spots, and the home now sits happily in the park, ready for sunny days at the beach.
